Kidz Rock is an exciting and unique
program available to Music Workshop
Students!
Students have the opportunity to
join a Music Workshop rock band that
rehearses once a week for one hour
at The Music Workshop’s recording
studio. A professional instructor
who coaches the kids on how to put
together rock tunes as a band supervises
the rehearsal. Once the tunes are
performance ready, the kids record
them in our state-of-the-art digital
recording studio, and take home a
CD of their performance.
A typical band consists of 1 or 2
guitars, bass, drums, keyboards, and
vocals.
Levels range from beginner to advanced.
Kids are placed in bands with peers
of approximately the same age and
skill level. Ages range from 9-18.
(We also have adult bands, for all
you closet Week-end Warriors).
The kids recently got to perform
at their own KidzRock concert produced
by The Music Workshop at The Recher
Theatre on April 8th. (Video and pictures
coming soon). They will also be performing
@ The Charles Village Festival on
June 3rd and 4th. Exact schedule will
be posted soon.
We currently have 10 bands meeting
on a weekly basis. New bands are forming
all the time! Call The Music Workshop
to schedule an evaluation to be placed
on the list for new bands. |
